What’s the heart of your teaching? I want students to feel safe and supported as they explore movement and breath and how that affects their body, thoughts, feelings, and emotions.
Why did you start teaching? In my early twenties, my mom grew very ill and in need of an organ transplant. Uncertain of the outcome, I held my breath, stifled my thoughts, swallowed my feelings and emotions and was overcome by fear and worry. This was not sustainable, and talk therapy was helpful when I could articulate my experience. The practice of yoga was a safe space where I can move, breathe, process and soothe what I could not express with words. I wanted to learn how to share this gift with others.
Extra Spark: I provide a safe space of movement and stillness where we can practice expressing and aligning through shared aums, pranayama, asana and accessible meditation.
Off the mat: I love spending time with nature, wildlife and my two golden retrievers and three tabby cats. My guilty pleasure is slowing down and taking ample time to reflect, rest, and recover.
